Update – Interstate 91 in Hartland was re-opened as of 1 p.m. Thursday. Police said the two-car accident involved one fatality. Four individuals – three of them juveniles – were transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Interstate 91 is closed around mile-marker 60 due to a serious accident that occurred this morning, according a Vermont State Police statement sent out at 8:38 a.m.
During the closure, traffic is being diverted to U.S. Route 5 at Exit 9. Police urged motorists to be patient and seek alternate routes.
As of 9 a.m., it was unclear when the road would re-open, and police were not releasing further details about the incident.
