For the first time in YOH Theater history, a student has directed the last play of the year.
Part of her final project, Woodstock Union High School junior Alivia Salls was inspired to do the play because of how different it was from anything she had seen done in YOH. “There was a lot of freedom within the script to add my own personal touches,” said Salls.
The one-act play has no dialogue and is based on seven strangers who meet in a train station and, instead of luggage, carry their “emotional baggage.” The play is based solely on action and non-verbal storytelling through mask and movement. The play was put on May 23 and 24.
