In their most recent update, state officials confirmed the Bridge 51 project in Woodstock Village would be halted for the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, to resume on Tuesday, May 29.
Here’s the full update from VTrans:
Please use caution while driving over the bridge. Until final paving is completed, drivers should anticipate a 3-inch ramp from the existing US Route 4 roadway down onto the base layer of pavement.
Businesses on either side of the bridge are open and remain accessible via the five-foot-wide pedestrian pathway on the north side of the bridge (Post Office Side).
No work is scheduled for the three-day Memorial Day Weekend.
The sidewalks on both sides of the bridge have been completed, however, pedestrians are still required to cross the bridge via the five-foot-wide temporary pathway on the north side (post office side). Flaggers will be present to assist pedestrians crossing from the south sidewalk to the north side.
Next week, construction of the new bridge railing will continue with two-way traffic across the bridge, reduced as needed, to alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers.
Construction activities can be expected weekdays during the hours of
7 a.m. and 6 p.m. No night or weekend work is anticipated at this time. VTrans will keep you informed of any changes to construction activities related to the
Woodstock Village US Route 4 Bridge 51 project throughout the duration of the construction season.
