NORTH HARTLAND – A serious rollover accident involving some sort of truck has emergency crews working in the travel lane of Interstate 91 northbound at mile marker 65 a short distance north of the “double U-turns.”
One person is entrapped and several fire engines and two ambulances from Hartland and Hartford began arriving on the scene around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Initial reports said that two people were in the truck which was on its side; however, one of them managed to get out by themselves while nurses who stopped to help were reporting that the other individual was still inside the truck and appeared to be seriously injured.
The passing lane on the northbound side was still open to traffic and firefighters were trying to slow oncoming traffic down and direct it past the scene as of 6:40 p.m.
Further south, in Springfield, Vermont State Police are reporting that the southbound lanes of I-91 have been closed until further notice near Exit 7 because of a crash involving a state snowplow truck and a log truck.
