Fighting the Heat

As this week’s crushing heat wave takes hold, Vermont 50 Race Director Mike Silverman sponges water over the first 50-km runner to finish, Keith Lundquist from Hopkinton, New Hampshire, int he 25th Annual Vermont 50 Mountain Bike or Ultra Run held at Mount Ascutney in West Windsor on Sunday. Vermont Woodworking and Forest Festival, 2017
The Vermont Wood Manufacturers Association has held its event for the past 14 years. Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Park and Billings Farm & Museum hosted the event.

On the Green Grilled Cheese
Change the World Kids with Vermont Farmstead Cheese hosted a fundraiser on the Green in Woodstock.

Pentangle’s Light Garden Art
The annual Light Garden installation art was presented on the Green over the weekend of September 23-24. Art installations made of illuminations were on display.

Rocking Horses Painted at NWPL
Fifth graders from Woodstock Elementary School gathered at Norman Williams Public Library with their art teacher, Brooke Piana and artist Charlet Davenport to paint the rocking horses made by Ken Woodhead, to be placed in children’s room at the library.

Old Time Fair at Woodstock History Center
The annual Old Time Fair took place on the back lawn of the Woodstock History Center.

25th Annual Vermont 50
On Sunday, the 25th Annual Vermont 50 Mountain Bike or Ultra-Run was held at Mount Ascutney in West Windsor, Vt.. 653 mountain bikers and 142 runners finished the 50 mile course and 176 runners finished the 50 Km course.
