Staff report

A Hartland man avoided a fire at his garage by towing away a burning 1989 Chevy pickup truck away from the building Wednesday afternoon.

Stu Dunbar, owner of Stu’s Auto Body on Route 12 in Hartland, towed the truck away from the garage with a tractor after it caught fire as he attempted to start it around 1:30 p.m.

The Hartland Fire Department put the truck fire out quickly.
