Lorraine Kruse – SPRINGFIELD — Services were held at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield on March 9 for Lorraine Strong Kruse, 88 who passed away March 5 at her home. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock.

Steven Morale – WEST BURKE — A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Steven P. Morale, 58, who passed at home on March 2. He was born Oct. 29, 1957.

SOVT 2016 Winter Games, Events
The 2016 Special Olympics Vermont Winter Games were held for the 9th consecutive year in Woodstock Vermont. Snowboarding, Skiing both Alpine and Nordic as well as Snowshoeing were the events participants competed in.

Jazz Funk Masquerade Ball
The 4th Annual Masquerade Ball was held at the Barnard Town Hall, hosted by BarnArts.

SOVT Dance and Barbecue Lunch
Special Olympics of Vermont participants enjoyed an evening of dancing on Saturday at the Woodstock Inn and Resort. And a barbecue lunch was served on Sunday to Special Olympics participants and their families.

SOVT Winter Games Opening Ceremonies
The opening ceremonies included a torch parade of athletes, special guests, speeches and fireworks.

SOVT Governor’s Reception
The Woodstock Inn hosted the Special Olympics of Vermont Governor’s Reception Friday night. Special guest Tim Shriver, Chairman of Special Olympics spoke. As did Athlete Ambassador, Chris Mitchell.
