Firefighters are having trouble keeping their hoses from freezing (temperature is about 4 degrees Fahrenheit) as they try to put a fire out at a home on Route 131, east of Amsden School Road. As of 11 a.m., Route 131 is closed from the Weathersfield Center Road to Lottery Lane.

The home was reportedly empty.

Update, 12:35 p.m.: Route 131 is open again.

A fire broke out at the Moore Farmhouse on Route 131 in Weathersfield early Monday morning on February 15, 2016. The 911 call went out around 7 a.m. The house was fully involved and fire companies from both sides of the Connecticut River responded. The fire fighters battled the subzero temperatures.
